Heres a copy of an Abbott Handerson Thayer painting. I tried my hand at gouache with this exercise. I am out of practice and am not used to the medium. That being said the drawing isn’t correct and the colors are off. The nose is off and some of the areas could be a lot darker. Its hard to judge the way the colors are gonna dry, I guess that comes with practice. I kept telling myself “I could totally do this in oils.” Most likely not. I’m way rusty and need to work more. The next one will be better. Maybe.
